European Space Agency Plans to Explore the Moon Properly

European Space Agency plans to send human on the soil of moon in the next few years with the help of NASA and the Japanese and Canadian space agencies.

The project which is also known as "Gateway" includes to build a new space station in the orbit of moon, design and
build a sophisticated communication and refueling unit, known as Esprit, to serve astronauts on the lunar surface.

David Parker, head of robotics for the European Space Agency (Esa), said the aim of this project is to send human to the moon by 2024.

The first person who will take part in this mission is Tim Peake, who already spent six months on the International Space Station that orbits Earth.

The Gateway program will help scientists to explore the moon properly. Scientists want to reveal the secret of how our solar system formed because moon is just like a museum that has been soaking the history of our solar system for more than 4 billion years.

Scientist also want to explore the south pole of the moon for the frozen water. Indian Space Research Organization, world's first space organization to find presence of water on the moon.

The main vehicle will be used for carrying the astronauts to the moon is Orion spacecraft.

Mr Parker said, The hope is that exploration will be fully under way by the end of the decade. “By then, we will have had 30 years working on the International Space Station. We’ll get back to the moon during this decade and spend 15 to 20 years doing everything that needs to be done to explore the moon. Then we can think about the next step: going to Mars.”
