Vaccines typically require shipping temperature ranging from two to eight degree Celsius and half of them are damaged annually because they aren't kept in enough cold.
According to the study, published in the Journal Bio-materials Science, the viruses in vaccine identify and destroy viral invaders, unfold when it's hot and have space to move around.
" As a Steak has proteins, fats and other molecules to be stabilized needs cold, the vaccines have same stability issues" said by Caryn Heldt, a co-author of the study Michigan Technological University.
Viruses in Vaccine need heat energy to wake themselves, and not being crowed to give them room to fall apart.
Currently, Scientists get a new method to preserve Vaccines without relying on refrigeration.
They used complex Coacervation process in which synthetic proteins stick together and form a liquid phase.
"Many shampoos undergo Coacervation. When we put shampoo onto our wet hair, the water dilutes the shampoo, causing it to separate the phase and facilitate the removal of dirt and oil from your hair" Sarah Perry explained.
The researchers said the process works for non-enveloped viruses such as polio and common cold virus.
"In future, we want to think more about specific materials to use in our Coacervation. Crowding alone isn't an universal strategy to improve virus stability" Perry said.
Scientists added that amino acids, part of synthetic protein, are the same building blocks as in our bodies.
Heldt said, "We'er not adding to the vaccines that are already unknown "
